As bespokeness is all the rage, the Geneva-based customization specialist now proposes limited editions created hand-in-hand with watchmaking brands. Anonimo is the first to usher in this new era

Times have changed, attitudes have been shaken up and consumption patterns have been transformed, leading new words to appear on the vocabulary stage such as customization, upcycling and mainstream. Exalting the first two so as to undermine the last is the goal which Label Noir, the Geneva-based design agency specialized in customization, has set itself. It intends to partner with brands to revamp specific models – infusing them with a touch which stands out from the usual codes without actually altering them or breathing new life into unsold pieces, for example – and, as such, create limited editions exclusively sold on the e-commerce platform of its website. Anonimo, with its can’t-do-without classic Epurato, is the first firm to usher in this concept.

Label Noir’s designers imagined a rather more nuanced piece by fashioning its 42 mm cushion-shaped case in black DLC steel. This dusky case, waterproof to depths of 50 m (like the original one), boasts an open caseback which unveils some of the workings of the Sellita SW200-1 caliber, a well-proven selfwinding movement which vibrates at 4 Hz and gifts the watch with a power reserve of 38 hours.

The matt gray dial is encircled by an hour chapter featuring black indexes and Arabic numerals hovered over by the two black hour and minute hands. This deliberately-darkened décor which surrounds the date set at 6 o’clock invites the seconds to take centerstage and catch the eye with the azure blue hue which coats the direct-drive.

The Florence-based watchmaking brand unveils the 2020 vintage of its World Rally Championship chronograph. On the agenda: a new style combined with the same technical attributes.

The mythical Monte Carlo rally kicks off the 2020 WRC season. For the occasion, Anonimo, official race timekeeper, unveils an evolution of one of its flagship models, its Militare chronograph created in 2001. This timepiece boasts resolutely sporty features. Its 43.5 mm-diameter cushion-shaped steel case is set off with a black DLC and PVD-treated satin-brushed finish. A bezel enhanced with a tachymetric scale encircles a gray dial with hand-brushed finish, decorated with the WRC logo. Although previous references were underscored with touches of green, this year’s Militare Chrono WRC stands out with orange which adorns the railway-style minute tracker topping the flange, the central hand, the 30-minute totalizer hand at 9 o’clock as well as the push-piece set at 2 o’clock on the caseband, the indexes and the strap’s topstitching. This layout offers excellent readability obtained through the contrasting shades.

Aside from the above, this timepiece, waterproof to a depth of 120 meters, pursues the collection’s inherent characteristics such as the crown at 12 o’clock and its bi-compax-placed counters. Time data as well as short-cycle time measurements are driven by the Sellita SW 300 caliber. This self-winding movement delivers a power reserve of at least 42 hours. Its oscillating weight can be admired through the smoked sapphire-crystal caseback.

The Militare Chrono WRC is complemented by a strap fashioned using a highly-robust technical fabric, fireproofed Keprotec®.

Gone are the days of polished or satin-brushed finishing details. Here, imperfections and irregularities reign supreme! Their very existence is part and parcel of the desired-and-achieved one-of-a-kind style.

Own a unique timepiece: such is Anonimo’s surmise with this new 25-piece limited edition. Its particularity? As its name suggests, the Militare Chrono Oxidized Bronze hosts a cushion-shaped case fashioned in bronze. The choice of this metal is not without significance however. Over time, through contact with the air leading to oxidation, each timepiece will take on a natural patina and embrace a unique character. It must be said, the Florence-based firm is not a novice in the matter. It was, to boast, the first-ever watchmaking brand to use this copper-tin alloy back in 2006, as such a step ahead of the current trend. Drawing on its experience, for this series the brand decided to speed up the transformation process on the 43.5 mm-diameter case which is deliberately oxidized. The resulting warm hue combined with the hand-brushed-finished blue dial emphasizes the resolutely vintage look of the chronograph.

Short-cycle time measurements are driven by a caliber based on a Sellita SW 300. They are displayed through a center seconds hand and a 30-minute totalizer set at 9 o’clock. The self-winding movement powers the large hour and minute hands topped with luminescent coating as well as the small seconds featured at 3 o’clock. In addition, it provides the model with 42 hours’ autonomy once fully wound.

To stress its style even more so, Anonimo’s Militare Chrono Oxidized Bronze is complemented by a made-in-Italy brown calfskin strap attached by an oxidized bronze pin buckle.

The circular-grained movement integrates a skeletonised oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève with ANONIMO customisation.

The off-white opaline galvanic dial beautifully sets off the yellow second hand. The EPURATO features the 4, 8 and 12 applique numerals in a triangular configuration to reflect the iconic A of ANONIMO, a signature motif of the brand.

With the second version of the Vintage, Anonimo reminds us that a watch can be both a useful tool and an essential wardrobe accessory.

First unveiled shortly before Baselworld 2019 with a seductive blue sunray dial, the Nautilo Vintage diver’s watch by Anonimo is available with a chocolate-colored casing. A subtle smoky gradient gives the dial a character which is at once retro and elegant. The watch hands, coated with Super-Luminova®, point to a precision minute track set with index markers likewise painted with this luminescent material. A date window nested at 6 o’clock displays the calendar’s numbers.
